Miliband promises interest.

Environment Secretary and South Shields MP David Miliband made a commitment in the House of Commons yesterday to pay 5.5% interest to any farmer who has still not received the Single Farm Payment by the end of this month. This money ought to have been paid last year, as was the case in most other European states, but because of "difficulties" within his department and the Rural Payments Agency, U.K. farmers have built up large debts in many cases. I suggest that any additional costs for the Rural Payments Agency in this matter should be met by the employment agency Adecco , responsible for supplying those staff at the RPA in Newcastle who were more interested in writing abusive emails about farmers, puking in cups, and screwing each other - as well as the rural communities. |
