Amphitheatre season under way!
The season of free summer entertainment has kicked off in South Shields with a series of concerts at the Amphitheatre in Sea Road, I attended last night to watch Jen Stevens and the Hiccups. Jen is a local girl (Sunderland) and a very talented singer/songwriter. Although it wasn't a packed house she did draw a very good crowd on a warm balmy night to listen to her brand of shmoozy folksy bluesy stuff, I was pleasantly surprised at the good quality of her music.
