Govt Minister's pensions
More sleazy hypocracy!
Just days before the rest of us expect to learn that we will have to work until we are 68 before drawing our meagre pensions, it has been revealed that government ministers will be able to retire at 60 with "gold plated" pensions. Despite many private pension funds bringing to an end final salary schemes, Tony Blair and his cohorts have rearded themselves with just such a plan.
Senior ministers can expect pensions of over 50,000 pounds and the Prime Minister could rake in 123,000 pounds per year.
How well this news will be received in South Shields and other so-called working class areas remains to be seen, a greater feeling of "sleaze" is likely to be felt, don't expect the news to be quietly accepted!
