"School dinner Jimmy"

Cllr. Foreman makes an early start to the school term!

For thousands of school children in South Shields the new term starts tomorrow, a time to forge new friendships, renew older ones, and, as it appears in this evening's Gazette, a time to sit down for lunch with "school dinner Jimmy".

Cllr. Foreman just can't resist school meals, we lost count of the number of lunchtime photo opportunities the Labour councillor took in last year, but he seems to have done very well to get a place in the first sitting at Mortimer School.

We have praised the school dinner service in South Tyneside before in this blog and we are starting to recognise that school meals in this part will probably exceed the targets set by the government for nutritional content etc. So good, in fact, that I'm starting to feel a little envious of Cllr. Foreman's meal ticket!
